Volunteers congratulated older members and people with limited mobility of Khabarovsk community on New Year. As a gift in 2018, volunteers gave challahs and memorable brooches in the form of pomegranates, one of the symbols of the Jewish New Year, created with their own hands.
The master-class on making brooches was guided by the coordinator of the volunteer center – Lyubov Antonova. Pomegranates were made from polymer clay and decorated with rhinestones and beads after firing. Challahs were baked under the guidance of Julia Timofeyeva – the coordinator of community programs.
Volunteers delivered gifts to members with reduced mobility of the community. They are always happy to see our volunteers and glad to meet guests. A part of the gifts was given at classes in the day center, which is usually visited by lonely elderly people. There they have classes on Jewish traditions and the opportunity to socialize. Every time they feel positive emotions, when they receive gifts. Although it often happens that neither those who bring the gifts, nor the recipients do not know who created the present, our wards are always very happy about the attention. They always thank the volunteers and often ask to convey gratitude to the community.
